Hi, my name is Stephanie Nee Brucher, co-creator of We Got The List. I'm a working parent with an active young family. During my drive home, after a long day at work, I found myself dreading the question that I would inevitably hear when I got home, "M-o-m, what's for dinner?"

The problem was that I didn't have a plan. Most days, I struggled to get dinner on the table. I just didn't have the time and energy to plan ahead. I either shopped last minute for the evening's meal or picked up take out. When I made it to the grocery store, it was generally with a small list of things I definitely needed and that week's flyer with a bunch of circled items all over it. I would buy what was on sale, but I never had a plan for what to do with the food when I got home. I was spending a lot of money and wasting a lot of food and time. I even joined a menu-planning service thinking it would help, but I never used it. First, my family is not food-adventurous and the recipes were too complicated. Who wants to attempt an elaborate, new recipe 7 days a week? It just wasn't practical.

I knew that there had to be a better way. I knew if I had the ingredients in my house, and a simple plan for dinner, I could pull it off. I pitched the idea for We Got The List to my two partners Cheryl Hannan and Tina Newman, both with culinary arts backgrounds, and within a couple of weeks we were churning out weekly menus. I knew we could help other families and offer a practical and flexible alternative to the daily mealtime challenge.
